Stand Up and Sing: Street Fighting Man

Thanks for all great political music suggestions. Keep them coming! We’ll be posting some of our favorites throughout the week.

The next selection comes recommended from Wiz. It’s probably the only track on Rolling Stone Magazine’s top 500 songs of all time that’s inspired by radical historian, novelist, filmmaker, and all around shit-disturber Tariq Ali. For Ali’s recollections on 1968, the year the Stones’ recorded “Street Fighting Man,” see this nostalgic piece on the era’s global unrest that he wrote for the Guardian.

The search for the best political music continues.
